- Jawa have launched the modern rendition of the Perak in the form of the 42 Bobber. It is adorned with modern bits like all LED lighting, cluster and switchgear from the Yezdo Scrambler and a slipper clutch to go with its bold new color schemes. But when Sarge got on, he did not realise what it had in store for him.

I am super thrilled to have ridden this bike. It is an absolute pleasure to ride it. The modern classic looks are to die for. Turning on the engine delights me with a hearty sound and the acceleration that zips me ahead and the brakes are just awesome. I feel really confident riding this one. I just can't find enough words to describe the feeling. You have to ride it to feel it.

Crisp review as usual. A bobber is never going to be a practical buy. This would be good for the college goers as a chick magnet. Only problem would be the absence of the pillion seat :) This could also be a second bike for persons who already have a bike for touring and are looking for something different and cool in the city. BGM and camera work is absolutley top class!

Great review as always.I own a 1st gen jawa 42.It could have been a worthy opponent to the RE stable.But let's hope Jawa is listening.Maybe this was the review that was required to realign their strategy.

Wow finally found someone who actually reviews Jawa / Yezdi motorcycle without bias. As an owner of Yezdi Scrambler I was fed up with the negative reviews just because it is not made by a particular company.

The bike works perfetctly well on higher revs. Also not all bikes are made for top end performance. Some are for goold old time laidback riding expereince. The beauty of this bike is it offers both the laidback as well modern sporty feel.

Great improvements compared to perak, oh man we just had a ride organised for the bobbers and seeing the two bobbers the 42 and the perak side by side was like heaven on earth

Fantastic review as always. Wish you would do a review on the cb350 rs , maybe a comparo between the re, jawa and honda , It would really help in the buying process as the market is now cluttered with bikes.

Well you are already a cool looking guy. A classic motorcycle jacket, the one with a belt would have taken your coolness up a notch (in my honest view). And on this Bobber, a match made in heaven. Not to mention the bike itself is a stunner, a premium looking thing like the Triumph Bobber.

This bike has peaked my interest but I'm unsure about the ride quality ( haven't got a chance to TD it yet due to unavailability in Chennai). Would you consider the setup is stiffer than say an MT15?

Sarge pls advise, whether it would be fine to use 130/70 r18 in place of 120/70 r18 for my Vulcan S front wheel, as original 120 section tyre is really difficult to find at affordable rates?
u can but it will take more effort to turn the bike with the wider front tyre

Sarge .. I do visit my office @ Chennai twice from my hometown every week which is of 400 kms altogether (200 kms every ride) .. Will the Bobber be the best buy considering highway stability , comfort , power, suspension and mileage !?

I'm confused among yezdi scrambler vs Jawa Bobber.. which to buy and i live in Bangalore and which is good for traffic.
